I believe we can be a product of our environment and a reflection of the systems we are a part of. While, I practice from a Systems perspective; I also believe that we have more will than we often give ourselves credit. During transitions in our life, we tend to lean in to Existential theories, while we focus on our purpose. We are meant to be connected and build community, which is the basic approach of Relational theories.
Traditional outpatient therapy usually relies on talk therapy. Although it is important to verbally communicate emotions and ideas in sessions; it is not unusual to incorporate art in therapy, role playing, sitting in silence, games in therapy, etc. No matter the reason for starting this journey, you will have an individualized experience.
